"People First" Co-Design

To build equitable and resilient cities, planners and policymakers are integrating lived experiences and community storytelling into decision-making processes. These narratives, when translated into reliable and actionable data, provide more inclusive foundation for city plans, policies, and projects. It requires trust and an economic approach that puts people first. Translating lived experiences into usable data for “people first” policy and planning is at the core of apsi’s EHP Model.

Data Capture, Analysis and Modeling

In leading participatory science efforts such as, heat and air quality monitoring and perception surveys, our community engagement efforts may include Resilience Ambassadors and community volunteers in Participatory Science.

This approach provides a granular data tool rooted in lived experiences (storytelling), demographics and other supporting community-led research. Community-based organizations and local governments can use this tool to drive policy, program development and investments. See conceptual model below.
